Games can provide an avenue for collegial, student-affirming competition in the form of esports.
Esports can provide opportunities to develop social-emotional learning, including teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.
Esports competitions combined with and framed through social-emotional learning can strengthen regional communities of learners.
At its most basic, competitive gaming is a fundamentally inclusive activity and tournaments have a special responsibility to support and affirm this inclusivity.
